What About John Chapter 6?

As you may know, the Roman Catholic institution teaches its adherents that in the Roman Catholic "mass" the Catholic priest literally calls the Lord Jesus Christ out of heaven and into some bread and wine. They are taught that they actually eat the flesh of their Jesus as a piece of "transubstantiated" cracker/bread (and drink his literal blood in "transubstantiated" wine). The Roman Catholic institution calls this blasphemy the eucharist. It is sometimes set in a monstrance so that the people can worship the cracker. It is an idol. In the past, followers of the pope/papists were forbidden to read the Bible (it was on Roman Catholic Church's list of prohibited books)--the scriptures reveal the truth that we do not receive Jesus by actually eating him. For those true Christians that denied that Catholic priests had the power to make Jesus come down from heaven so you could eat him, they were tortured, killed, etc. Millions of Christians were killed by popery--this is DOCUMENTED...

But now that God's people have flooded the world with scriptures and because Rome cannot control every country, it has changed its Satanic strategy. In the last decade or so, Catholic apologists have been teaching the people selected verses of scripture in an attempt to Christianize their pagan beliefs. John chapter 6 is one of the most common passages I hear from papists (followers of the pope) who attempt to defend Romish rites. The writer below didn't use the Authorized Version of 1611, so if you wish to read John 6 from the Authorized Version, go here. Even in quoting from his unauthorized version, the writer stopped short.

An e-mail from a Roman Catholic

JOHN CHAPTER 6

I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world. Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.

My Response

Aren't you forgetting to read the last verse of this passage (John 6:63) which shows [Jesus] didn't mean this literally?

It is the SPIRIT that quickeneth; THE FLESH PROFITETH NOTHING: THE WORDS I SPEAK ARE SPIRIT, and they are life.

In his knowledge that the Catholic religion would twist this, the Lord made it clear that he was not speaking literally. (Click here to see what Jesus really meant in John chapter 6.)

There are many other points that could made about this such as the Catholic religion contradicting its own evil tenets. For example, in the passage the writer quoted, he said "Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life" -- YET the Catholic religion says you can't be sure that you have eternal life--they call it the sin of presumption.

Get saved and you can know for sure that heaven will be your home! Knowing Jesus is not about Romish rituals and proclamations. To be saved, one must--

  • repent of their sins
  • believe that Jesus died for them and rose on the third day
  • obey his word

It is not enough for you to to know about Jesus. YOU BETTER MAKE SURE THAT HE KNOWS YOU. In Matthew chapter seven we see a group of hellbound religious people who want to get into the kingdom, but Jesus told them, "I never KNEW you." You must KNOW the Lord ACCORDING TO HIS WORD, not according to your leaders

Isaiah 9:16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.

Matthew 15:14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

Everytime you put that cracker in your mouth and call it Jesus, God hates it. It is an abomination to him. Everytime a nun tells a child, "Go visit Jesus in that little box, he's lonely in there," God hates it. It is a stink in his holy nostrils. Jesus is high and lifted up and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. He sees the Roman Catholic masses taking place--but he is not leaving his throne in heaven to be sacrificed by a Roman Catholic so-called "alter Christus" priest. The sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ was a ONE TIME sacrifice. The great whore of Revelation 17, is full of blasphemy, heresy, and abomination. Just before he died on the cross, the Lord Jesus said, "It is finished." Popery basically (and blasphemously) says that the payment for our sins is not finished and that people have to go through her money maker paying for masses and indulgences, etc. in order to hope to one day gain salvation. Salvation is a free gift (reference Romans 5:15-16, 17)--no paying for "masses", "indulgences", etc. No "penance", no crawling on your knees, no purgatory, etc. The Lord Jesus Christ died ONE time to purchase our eternal salvation. All we have to do is believe that he died for our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day, and we must also obey his word (his commandments are not grievous, reference I John 5:13).
